About Loor Nicolas :
I’m Loor Nicolas, and I was born in the vibrant country of Ecuador. When I was just 9 years old, my family made the significant move to the bustling city of Barcelona, where my artistic journey began to flourish. I currently work primarily as a tattoo artist, although I also embrace opportunities as an illustrator and graphic designer when the occasion arises. My unique style is a rich mixture of all my tastes and influences, which I have accumulated throughout my life, drawing from diverse realms such as music, comics, graphic design, and advertising illustration. All of these experiences converge in my work, particularly focusing on tattooing, which is my main profession today.
The features that distinctly characterize my artistic work are the thick, clean strokes and vibrant, saturated colors that aim to catch the eye at first glance. However, once the viewer's gaze is captured, I take great pleasure in allowing them to discover the intricate small details embedded within my pieces. This approach helps me create a unique visual language that feels distinctly my own. I believe that anything that piques my interest, whether it be from the realm of art, culture, or nature, can be incorporated into my creations, allowing my work to continually evolve over time. Currently, I find myself particularly fascinated by the universe and the captivating world of science fiction. These themes give me a sense of freedom, as they open up a plethora of possibilities for me to fantasize and construct intriguing narratives within my artwork.
Artist’s Statement :
For the decks, I wanted to create an enchanting cosmos that artfully mixes elements of mysticism with intricate technological details that are typically found in the realm of science fiction. I find great inspiration in the idea of presenting an image that invites people to invent their own unique stories, complete with their own characters, conflicts, and twists. It brings me joy to think of my designs as a compelling starting point for everyone to explore their imagination, allowing them to craft their own comic, movie, or narrative in the vivid landscapes of their own minds.
